In this unit, I am working on making an object on 3D-printer.

The object is based on IB learner profiles.

I choose to make an object that presents the word “knowledgeable”.

This is the design I made. It took around 4 hours to make.

I made a book at the center part of the object, since books often represents knowledge.

I put a butterfly and a flag on the book to show how knowledge always helps you to achieve your goals and how the knowledge will satisfice you like the little butterfly.

Behind the book, I made a large tree which looks like its growing from the book, to show how knowledge helps you learn and mature as a person. On the tree, I put the word “knowledgeable” to tell how knowledge is always achievable when you work hard.

While making the design, I was being careful not to make overhangs, so I separated each parts and decided to build them after the printing process.

After finishing the designing process, I moved on to the printing process. However, a problem occurred while printing.

The segments did not stick well together, and it did not form a proper shape.

This happened since the segment was new and the machine was not adapting to it.

However, the other side printed well and looks normal.

I will continue with this and see how it will work.
